United wins the battle with Fulham, 2-1 at Craven Cottage
Manchester United recorded a difficult but important victory over Fulham. The Red Devils won 2-1 at Craven Cottage in a match of the 18th round of the Premier League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s players made a complete turnaround and thus regained the leading position, leading the city rival Man City by 2 points.
The match started with a blow to the Cottagers. In the 5th minute, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa found Ademola Lookman, who in turn reacted quickly to overtake the goalkeeper and shot close to the bottom left corner for 1-0.
In the 21st minute, Bruno Fernandes made a shot from a medium distance, but the ball hit the right crossbar. In the next attack, the Red Devils found the path to the net. Edinson Cavani caught a rebound after Fernandes shot and made 1-1 with a deliberate shot.
In the 65th minute, Paul Pogba found the ball with incredible strength and density, sending it to the left corner for 2-1. At the very end of the match, Fulham could equalize after Alexander Mitrovic reached a cross in the small penalty area to shoot with his head, and if he was not one of the defenders with the intervention of the goal, it would have been a sure goal. However, there was none and Man United managed to win.
With the win, the 20-time English champion is in first place with 40 points, followed by Manchester City and Leicester, who have 38 each, and the champion Liverpool is fourth with 34.
