Boubakary Soumare future to be decided this summer

Manchester United will fight with AC Milan for the signature of the star of Lille OSC Boubakary Soumare. However, according to Calciomercato, the French team is reluctant to release its player this month and would prefer to sell him in the summer.

Soumare, 21, has 66 appearances in Ligue 1 for Lille OSC since his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. The Red Devils have been following him since last year, when there were fears that Paul Pogba would leave Old Trafford, but the Frenchman remainedm and it is expected that this summer he will finally leave England.

Soumare is clearly one of his potential substitutes in the United midfield. Arsenal were also linked to the youngster before signing Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey in early October.

The main competition to United is believed to come from AC Milan. The Rossoneri will be looking to strengthen their squad in an attempt to win their first Serie A title since 2011. Neither Milan nor United can get a chance to take Soumare this month. Lille are also battling Lyon and current champions Paris Saint-Germain for the French title and are unlikely to want to part with one of their key players in midfield. Therefore, the transfer will rather happen in the summer.
