Haaland top target for Solskjaer

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shifted his interest from one big Borussia Dortmund star to another. According to the Mirror, the club is already looking with some relief at the fact that they did not spend a lot of money on Jadon Sancho during the summer transfer window. The form of the player himself has dropped and the performance of The Red Devils since the beginning of the season in the Premier League has convinced the management that perhaps the big priority should not be to attract a new winger.

Solskjaer again is focused on his teammate Erling Haaland. There is no doubt about the qualities and statistics of the Norwegian and the presence of a release clause in his contract means that he can come out even cheaper than Sancho.

The media are not unanimous when the clause comes into effect, according to which the Netherlands can be bought out for about 70 million pounds. According to some sources the clause may be activated as early as next summer, while others claim that it will be valid in 2022.

There are at least two major obstacles to Haaland’s possible transfer to Old Trafford. The first is that the Norwegian’s agent is Mino Raiola, with whom the management of Manchester United has not been on good terms for some time. The second is that Haaland is one of Real Madrid’s big transfer targets.
